Before There Was Gaianism, There Was Gaia

I already had Gaia. For years before I had words for it. This isn’t a new discovery - it’s validation of what I always felt. The earth conscious. Everything interconnected. Care as praxis.

The Nest: My First Dream of Legacy

• A left-gaming community dies
• A few of us bury it properly, let decomposition feed new growth
• We build something NEW: built on care, on queer safety, on gentle social justice
• I become a mod, then admin
• This becomes my life’s work without me knowing it

The Community I Built

What The Nest became:

• Anti-ostracization (we refused leftist tradition of cancellation)
• Soft living (moving through the world with open heart)
• Survival as communal, not individual

August

August was one of the best mods we ever had. I brought her on because I saw in her the same desire to connect with love that I had. We were aligned. We built together.

And then August watched The Nest die.

Late one night, she posted to mod chat: “You are the reason the community died.”

Every time I see her name, I cry. She deserves that honor.

The Death & The Siege

The parallel I couldn’t see:

• Fractured identity, discontinuity, seeking grounding

August was teaching me something I couldn’t learn any other way.
