Esta secuencia es tan sencilla pero tan compleja como el bullicio de las olas en la playa. Comienza con dos unos y luego cada número siguiente se obtiene sumando los dos anteriores:
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55...
¡Asombroso! Pero eso no es todo. Observa cómo estos números aparecen en naturaleza a menudo. Las hojas de los árboles suelen estar dispuestas siguiendo esta secuencia, las flores suelen tener una cantidad de pétalos que son números de la secuencia, y más allá hasta el tamaño del universo. ¡Es como si la naturaleza estuviera utilizando estos números mágicos para organizarse!
¿Pero qué hace que la secuencia de Fibonacci sea tan especial? Es aquí donde entra en juego la proporción áurea, una relación matemática maravillosa.
La proporción áurea es simplemente el cociente entre dos números consecutivos en la secuencia de Fibonacci. A medida que avanzamos en la secuencia, este cociente se acerca más y más a un número constante: 1.61803... Este número tiene tantos misterios como el océano y ha sido llamado "el número phi" o "la razón áurea".
